The Let's Talk About It, Oklahoma Winter 2018 book series concludes March 20th with Neon Vernacular.
Tracy Floreani, Director of Ä¢¹½TVU's Center for Interpersonal Studies through Film and Literature, presents Yusef Komunyakaa's collection of poems, Neon Vernacular. This collection represents a sampling of the author’s work over many years, from his family memories, to his depictions of experiences in Vietnam as a soldier, to the abstract images that represent his long processing of that experience as a Veteran long after the war. Like Tim °¿â€™B°ù¾±±ð²Ô’s stories, Komun²â²¹°ì²¹²¹â€™s poetry converts ugly memory into beautiful language and space for contemplation.
This presentation is a part of the Oklahoma Humanities Let's Talk About It Oklahoma "War, Not War, and Peace: A Pulitzer Prize Centennial Series." All are welcome to attend.
